Your NFL app should work when you open it. But people have experienced different problems with the application.
For example, some cannot log in to their account on a mobile device despite entering the correct login credentials. And if you access it on the Xbox, you get an error message.

In other cases, you find that the NFL app is stuck on the loading screen, and you cannot proceed to sign in to your account. So what might be the problem?
How to troubleshoot the NFL app
When your NFL app is not working, you can troubleshoot it using the following seven methods.
1. Fixing issues with the NFL app on your Xbox
Many Xbox users have complained of an issue with the NFL app, whereby they get an error message whenever they open it.
Generally, NFL tends to update the app in the offseason. Therefore, if your Xbox app is not working, you could be using an outdated version.

The easiest way of updating the app is to delete it from your Xbox. Then, restart your device and search for the NFL app. Once done, install it and log in to your account to get started.
You will know you have an updated app if the background in the new version is blue. The old version has a red background.
2. How to troubleshoot the NFL app that is stuck on the loading screen
Different factors explain why the NFL app is stuck on the loading screen. For example, the app will take longer to load when your internet connection is unstable.
But the reason could also be a corrupted cache file preventing the app from loading or opening. Therefore, try the following methods to troubleshoot the issue.
Check your internet connection
A slow internet connection could be why the NFL app is stuck on the loading screen. Try the following:
- Use Wi-Fi instead of mobile data and vice versa.
- Use an Ethernet connection instead of a wireless network if you use the Android app on your Smart TV.
- Check your internet speed by conducting a speed test. Ensure you have a download speed of at least 1Mbps.
- Restart your network devices.
You can also contact your ISP to determine whether they have internet issues.

Clear app cache
A corrupted app cache file can stop the app from loading. You can clear the app cache in Android through these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select the NFL app.
- Clear Data and Clear Cache.
- Launch the app and log in again.
If the NFL app is not working on Fire TV Stick, clear the app cache and data, or restart your Fire TV device.
In that case:
- Go to Settings
- Select Applications
- Select the NFL app
- Tap Clear Cache and Clear data under Manage Installed Applications.
3. Your subscription plan is inaccurate
The NFL has many licensing restrictions, especially for NFL Game Pass Domestic and other NFL Game Pass products.
Unfortunately, that means you cannot switch between two services. For example, if you subscribed to NFL Game Pass Domestic, you cannot watch NFL Game Pass.
Therefore, you must purchase a separate subscription to access the program on your iPad.
4. Check your location
When you subscribe to NFL Game Pass, you will not access all games worldwide. That is because the NFL has blackout restrictions, especially in the UK and Ireland.
So, when you sign up for Game Pass from select locations, you will have live-streaming access to every game. The best workaround is to use a VPN.
Or, if you have location issues and cannot access some games because you have enabled your VPN, disable it and try again.
5. Force stop the NFL app
If the NFL app is not working on Android, try to force-stop it and open it. When you force-stop the app, it will end all the currently running processes.
As a result, the app will not access its cache files and will not interact with device resources. Ultimately, it will stop misbehaving, allowing you to start afresh.
Therefore, go to Settings – Apps – and select the NFL app. Tap on it and then tap on Force Stop. Once done, open the app and try again.
6. Update the app
Consider updating if you cannot stream NFL because the app is stuck on the loading screen or misbehaving. You can update the app directly on your device’s application store.
In other words, go to the Google Play Store, search for the app and update it or go to the App Store and update the app. After updating the application, open it and see if it loads.
7. Update your device
If your device is outdated, the latest NFL app may not work well because of the new updates. In addition, you will get errors that will prevent you from streaming.
Therefore, you must update your device to see whether it will fix the issue. First, go to your device’s settings and check for updates. If available, update accordingly.
If you have the NFL app for PS4, ensure your PS4 is up-to-date. Also, understand that the NFL app for PS4 is only available in select countries.
