Fix: Samsung Notes app not working or keeps crashing

You may lose some files and drafts if the app stops working, particularly if the files are not synced to the cloud. Luckily, there are solutions to this common problem.

So, how do you fix the Samsung Notes app when it is not working or keeps crashing? Since there are many causes for this glitch, there are also many to fix the problem.

Restarting your Samsung device and clearing the caches are the simplest ways to solve the bug. However, if the problem persists, you can update the app or uninstall and reinstall it later.

Whether you have the latest Samsung phone or the previous models, here are the solutions if the Samsung notes app keeps crashing.

Option #1: Restart your device

If the Samsung Notes app disappeared from your list of apps, the simplest solution is to restart the device.

Like in other Android and iOS devices, restarting solves different glitches on the Samsung phones.

To restart a Samsung phone:

  • Press and hold the Volume down button and Side button
  • Release the buttons when you see the Power off prompt
  • Select the Restart option
  • Confirm your choice by tapping the Restart option again

Once you restart your device, the glitch will disappear. However, if the Samsung Notes app keeps crashing after restarting the device, you need to clear the cache.

  • Scroll down to the Update section
  • Search the Samsung Notes app
  • If there is an update, click the Update option
  • Once the update is complete, restart your phone

The process may take more time, unlike other options.

Option #4: Uninstall and reinstall the app
