Shein’s refund policy allows you to get your money back once you request a refund. You can request a refund if your purchased item is defective, undelivered, damaged, or does not match the description.
However, the refund policy varies depending on the circumstances and country of origin. You must also ensure you have the correct information about the item before requesting a refund.
But how do you get your Shein refund, and how long does it take? Below is everything you need to know about the refund process.
How to get your Shein refund
To receive your refund, follow the steps below:
1. Check the item
Before initiating a refund, ensure the item you want to return is in new condition and has not been worn or washed. If the item is not in new condition, wash it before returning it.
If the item is in new condition, you can return it within 45 days of receiving your order. The item must be in its original packaging with all tags attached.
According to the Shein return policy, the company will not accept items altered or damaged by washing, dry cleaning, or other means. If you are unsure whether an item is in new condition, contact the store where you purchased it for clarification.
When returning your item, you will be responsible for the shipping costs. However, if your package was undelivered, you can get a refund on Shein without returning the item.
2. Initiate a refund
Once you confirm the item is in order, use the Shein app to initiate a refund. Here is how:
- Log in to your Shein account.
- Tap on the messaging icon.
- Select Orders.
- Choose the order you want to return.
- Tap on Order Details.
- Select Quick Return.
The refund process will begin. First, Shein will process the item and ensure it passes the quality check.
3. Submit a refund request
Shein may offer you a refund or a replacement item. You can request a refund through the Shein website or app or by contacting Shein customer service. If you have received a damaged item, include photos of the damage in your request.
Once your request is processed, you will receive an email notification with the refund time.
How long does it take for Shein to refund your money?
The time it takes for Shein to receive returns varies depending on the shipping method and your location. Once Shein receives the return, it will be processed within 5-7 business days after passing the quality check.
After processing the refund, you will receive an email notification. From here, the time it will take to get your Shein refund depends on your refund method and bank. For example:
- Shein Gift Card – 24 hours to initiate refunds.
- Shein Wallet – 24 hours to initiate refunds.
- PayPal – 24 hours to initiate refunds.
- Credit/Debit Card – 24 hours to initiate refunds.
Although Shein will initiate refunds within 24 hours, financial institutions may take longer to process and reflect refunds in your account. The exception is for Shein Gift Card or Shein Wallet, for which the amounts will reflect immediately.
However, PayPal funds will take 1-5 business days to reflect in your account, and credit/debit card funds will take 1-15 business days to reflect in your account.
Shein will refund you to the original payment account or your Shein Wallet. If you did not select a refund method during the return process, Shein will send the refund to your Wallet by default.
