Have you noticed com.sec.android.app.camerasaver using your camera in the background? What is it, and what is its function on your phone?

It can be scary to find camera-related apps running in the background of your phone, especially with a rise in incidents of stalkerware apps. But worry not! Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is not a spying app.

Instead, it is an Android system application that stores and manages videos and photos captured by your phone’s camera. Below is everything you need to know about the app and what it does on your phone.

What is com.sec.android.app.camerasaver, and what are its functions?

Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is not an app in itself, but the package name for the app. The components of the package name can be broken down as follows:

Com – this signifies that the package is from a commercial entity or company.

Sec – an acronym for Samsung Electronics Co., LTD. It signifies that the package is from Samsung.

Android – it signifies that the package is designed for the Android platform.

App – This designates the package as an application.

Camerasaver – this is the application’s name.

Therefore, it is clear that com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is the package name for a camera-saving application for Samsung Android phones.

The application has several functions, including:

1. Data storage for the camera app

Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is the application that is responsible for saving photos and videos captured by your phone’s camera.

2. Camera management

The app manages the device’s camera, ensuring it functions properly and is ready to use when needed.

3. Gallery integration

Given its role in storing photos and videos captured by the camera, it is likely that the application works with the gallery app to organize and display media.

4. Privacy indicators

As part of Android’s Privacy Indicators, com.sec.android.app.camerasaver helps display a green dot notification on the screen, indicating that the camera is being actively used.

What permissions does the Samsung camera saver app have?

There is little information about the full range of permissions the Camerasaver app has on Android devices. However, given its function, the following are some of the possible permissions the has:

Camera – the app has camera permissions, allowing it to access the images and videos captured.

Storage – it has storage permission, allowing it to save captured media.

The app may also have other permissions, such as microphone access (for recording audio in videos) and location services (for geotagging captured images).

Is com.sec.android.app.camerasaver dangerous?

Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is not dangerous. First, it is a system application that comes pre-installed on your phone (not downloaded from the app store), so you don’t have to worry about it being filled with viruses or malware.

Secondly, the application is developed by a reputable company, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., so you don’t have to worry about it being a malicious third-party app.

However, while the app is not dangerous, some Samsung phone users have expressed concerns about its operations.

Some users have complained about suspicious activity in the app. Image: Reddit@AndroidQuestions

Several people have reported that the application accesses the camera in the background immediately after booting their devices. This has led to concerns that the app is performing suspicious activity, such as spying on users.

However, despite these concerns, no reported cases of the app being stalkerware have been found. As one user has put it, it’s common for apps to have hidden permissions that allow them to run in the background.

Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is a pre-installed system app that is not dangerous. Image: Samsung Community

Can you uninstall the Samsung camera saver app?

No. Com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is a pre-installed system application. Therefore, you cannot uninstall it from your phone or disable it.

You can delete the application from your device using a root uninstaller (after rooting your phone) or an Android Debug Bridge (ADB) tool. However, neither of these options is advisable.

First, uninstalling system apps with root or ADB carries several risks, like voiding your device’s warranty or damaging it beyond repair.

In addition to these general risks, the com.sec.android.app.camerasaver is not a standalone app but a critical component of the Samsung camera system.

Therefore, uninstalling it would, at best, cause your camera to stop working and, at worst, damage your phone’s camera system extensively.

You should also note that since it’s a pre-installed system app, you can’t download it from the app store. Therefore, uninstalling the app will likely cause permanent damage to your device’s camera system.

What is com.android.smartface, and what functions does it carry out on your phone?

Some Android phones come with 100-400 preinstalled apps, some unnecessary, others bloatware, and some filled with malware. Therefore, it is important to keep track of the apps running on your phone and understand their role.

Com.android.smartface (sometimes appearing as com.samsung.android.smartface on Samsung phones) is the package name for SmartFaceService. It is an AI-powered system app that takes regular snaps with the selfie camera to determine if you are looking at the screen.

Below is a detailed look at the application, from its role, benefits, potential concerns, and other facts.

What is the role of com.android.smartface?

The SmartFaceService performs several functions on your Android device. Below is a look at some of them:

1. Face unlock feature

Com.android.smartface is integral to the Face Unlock feature on your Android phone. The application detects, identifies, and recognizes your face, allowing the feature to unlock your phone’s screen.

Face Unlock is one of the features that use com.android.smartface. Image: Appdrum

2. Device security

SmartFaceService is integral to the security of your Android phone. It is a biometric security app that (through the Face Unlock feature) provides an alternative option for unlocking your phone instead of using a password, PIN, or fingerprint unlock.

3. Unlocking apps

Several Android apps support app locking to enhance privacy and security. Many of these apps offer biometric unlocking, including a fingerprint lock or face ID, for example, WhatsApp.

Therefore, com.android.smartface can be a useful tool for unlocking apps on your devices. In addition, you could use the application to sign into accounts of mobile apps that support biometric login with face ID.

4. Authenticating online transactions

Some apps like Google Pay and Samsung Pay use SmartFaceService to authenticate transactions and payments on your device.

You can also use com.android.smartface to sign into (biometric login) supported financial apps or authenticate transactions and payments using such apps.

5. Keeping the screen alive

Another important role of com.android.smartface is keeping the screen alive when using your phone.

It does this by regularly taking snaps with the camera to detect your face. Once detected, the application overrides the screen timeout feature, preventing the screen from dimming, turning off, or locking.

Benefits of using the SmartFaceService on your phone?

Com.android.smartface is a handy application that offers several benefits like:

1. Enhanced security

The SmartFaceService is a vital tool for device security. First, it provides a biometric security feature for your phone’s screen, which can protect your device from unauthorized access, including theft.

Apart from device security, com.android.smartface allows you to control access to specific apps on your phone. This helps to protect personal information and sensitive files like videos, pictures, documents, messages, etc., thus ensuring your data does not fall into the wrong hands.

2. Increased convenience

SmartFaceService offers a more convenient method of unlocking your phone. The Face Unlock feature is faster than entering a PIN or password, and you don’t have to worry about forgetting your credentials.

Face Unlock can also be more convenient than fingerprint unlock, as your phone might fail to sense your fingerprint if your fingers are wet, dirty, oily, dry, or cut.

3. Improved user experience

Com.android.smartface is one of the several apps that improve the user experience of your Android device.

The instant face unlocking allows you to quickly and efficiently access your phone, which can be handy in an emergency or in a hurry to access your phone.

In addition, by keeping your screen alive, the application ensures you enjoy smooth operation when using your device for extended periods, such as reading or watching a video.

4. Versatile online security

SmartFaceService offers a flexible and convenient option for online security. You can use the application to authenticate your online transactions – much faster than you would with passwords.

Com.android.smartface can also serve as a backup authentication method should you forget the passwords to some of your financial apps.

What permissions does com.android.smartface have on your phone?

Com.android.smartface is granted several permissions on your Android phone. These include:

android.permission.CAMERA – the permission grants the ability to access and use your device’s camera.

android.permission.GET_TASKS – the permission allows the application to access and retrieve information about tasks actively running on your device.

android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS_FULL – the permission allows the app to interact with components within the application or other applications on the device.

android.permission.OBSERVE_SENSOR_PRIVACY – the permission allows the application to monitor and observe changes in the privacy settings of sensors (in this case, the camera) of the device.

android.permission.STATUS_BAR – the permission allows the application to control the device’s status bar.

android.permission.WAKE_LOCK – the permission allows the app to prevent the device from going to sleep, thus keeping the screen on.

Is com.android.smartface dangerous?

Com.android.smartface is a system application that is not malicious. Therefore, you can use it on your Android phone without fear of viruses or malware.

But, while the app is not dangerous, some users have reported several concerns when using the app. These include:

1. Potential privacy issues

Some users have reported issues with SmartFaceService accessing the camera several times daily and seemingly sending data to third party apps. This has raised some concerns that the app might be used for spying.

However, it is normal for com.android.smartface to access the camera several times a day (sometimes even a few hundred times). The app does this when it detects a potential face for scanning through the device’s infrared proximity sensor.

Also, data is likely sent to third-party applications when the app communicates with other applications on the device using the Face Unlock feature.

2. Increased battery drain

Some users have complained about increased drain when the SmartFaceService is running.

The high battery usage can be caused by the app accessing the camera several times. In addition, the app’s wake lock function can keep the screen alive for extended periods, causing a significant battery drain.

SmartFaceService can have a high battery usage due to its wake lock feature. Image: XDAforums

3. Increased security risk

One of the most serious concerns with com.android.smartface is that it can increase the security vulnerability of your device.

The security risk is because face unlock biometrics are less secure than passwords, PINs, and even fingerprint unlocking. After all, someone can unlock your phone if they closely resemble you physically or by using your face photo.

The increased security risk can be especially serious if you use the Face ID feature to unlock sensitive apps or data on your device or to authenticate financial transactions.

Can you uninstall com.android.smartface?

Com.android.smartface is a system application; therefore, you cannot uninstall it.

You could remove the app from your phone using a root uninstaller or the Android Debug Bridge in developer mode. However, given how vital the app is and that several other applications use it, it is not a good idea to try this.

However, you can disable the app if you are concerned about it running on your phone. To do this:

Go to Settings on your device.

Scroll down to Security or Biometrics and Security (on Samsung devices)

Tap on Face Unlock/Face Recognition.

Select Remove Face Data to delete any stored Face ID data and prevent the app from trying to scan your face.

You can also disable the stay awake feature of com.android.smartface by going to Settings>Advanced features>Motion and gestures and turning off the “keep screen on while viewing” feature.

Is com.dti.folderlauncher dangerous?

The Games Hub app is not dangerous or malicious. It is also not a virus, nor have there been any reports of the app coming with viruses. Therefore, it is completely safe to use.

But, while the app is not dangerous, some users have raised some concerns about it. These include:

It is a pre-installed system app that—while beneficial—does not have any critical roles. Therefore, some users consider it to be bloatware.

Some users have complained about their phones overheating when using the application, probably due to the action of the Game Booster feature.

It is not easily uninstalled. In addition, some users have reported cases where the app continues functioning in the background and automatically installing games even after being disabled in the device settings.

Besides these concerns from users, com.dti.folderlauncher comes with a number of permissions that might be alarming. These include access to all your installed packages (and the ability to interact with them) and the ability to request the uninstallation of apps installed on your device.

Can you uninstall com.dti.folderlauncher from your phone?

Com.dti.folderlauncher is not dangerous, so it is not necessary to uninstall it. However, you can remove it from your device if concerned about the app.

Below is a look at how you can uninstall the application from your phone:

1. Disabling the app

Since com.dti.folderlauncher is a system application, you cannot uninstall it like other apps on your device. However, you can disable it from running from the settings.

To do this:

Open the “Settings” menu on your phone.

Go to Apps

Scroll down and locate “Game Hub and Booster” from the list of apps.

Select “Disable” to stop the app from running on your device.

Depending on your phone’s model, you can also turn off the Game Hub app by going to Settings > Advanced Feature > Gaming Hub and then disabling the application.

2. Removing with a root uninstallation app

If you are uncomfortable with having com.dti.folderlauncher on your phone, you can try uninstalling it. One of the best ways to do this is with a root uninstallation app.

To do this, you will first need to root your device. Rooting gives you root access (administrator access privileges), which allows you to customize your phone in several ways, including uninstalling system apps.

After you have rooted your phone, you can uninstall com.dti.folderlauncher via the following steps:

Go to the Google Play Store and download a root uninstallation app on your phone (you can try the System app remover or any other root uninstaller with good reviews).

Launch the root uninstaller on your phone and provide it with the necessary permissions.

Enter “com.dti.folderlauncher” on the root uninstaller’s search bar to locate the app.

Tap on the app to view its details, then select “Uninstall”

Confirm your decision to complete the uninstallation process.

Note: Rooting your phone comes with many risks, such as voiding the device’s warranty, data loss, software damage, increased security vulnerabilities, and, worst of all, bricking your phone (rendering it unusable).

Therefore, carefully weigh your options before removing the Game Hub app via root uninstaller.

3. Uninstalling via the Android Debug Bridge (ADB)

ADB is a command-line tool that allows you to perform various tasks on your Android device (like debugging, installing apps, uninstalling applications, and other advanced tasks) from a computer.

Before using this method, you must download and set up the Android Debug Bridge on your PC.

After setting up the tool, follow the steps below to remove the application:

Go to Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging on your Android phone and enable the USB debugging mode.

Connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable.

Launch the ADB tool and type “adb shell” to get into the shell of your device.

Type “pm uninstall -k –user 0 com.dti.folderlauncher” to uninstall the com.dti.folderlauncher application from your device.

Once the command has run successfully, type “exit” to leave the shell.

Unplug your phone from your computer and check if the application has been deleted.

Note: Like with the root uninstallation, using the ADB tool to uninstall system apps comes with several risks, such as the potential for data loss, software corruption, or device damage (including bricking), especially if you enter the wrong adb shell commands.

Therefore, you should be very careful when using the ADB tool on your device.

Have you encountered com.android.emergency on your Android phone? What is its function on your device?

Having an app or tool you don’t know about on your phone can be disconcerting. However, com.android.emergency should not worry you as it is an Android system package that manages emergency features on your device.

Below is a detailed description of the tool, its features, how it works, and other details you should know.

What does com.android.emergency do?

Com.android.emergency performs several functions on your phone, including:

1. Managing your emergency contacts

The Android emergency services application allows you to add emergency contacts to your device.

You can also manage your emergency contacts list, for example, by making them visible to emergency responders when your phone is locked.

2. Managing your medical information

The Android emergency services application allows you to store your medical information, including details like height, weight, blood group, allergies, medications, medical notes, and organ donor status.

You can also use the application to manage your medical information, such as making it visible to emergency responders when your phone is locked.

3. Managing the emergency SOS feature

The emergency services application manages the SOS feature on your Android phone. For example, you can set trigger actions to quickly call emergency services (911/999/112).

You can also set trigger action for other SOS features like:

Sharing your information with emergency contacts.

Share photos, videos, or audio recordings with your emergency contacts or services.

4. Managing wireless emergency alerts

The com.android.emergency package allows your mobile device to receive safety alerts from the government and other emergency agencies.

These alerts can include natural disaster warnings (for example, an earthquake) or public security threats near your location.

5. Sharing information with emergency services

Another vital role of com.android.emergency is sharing your information with emergency services/first responders when you make an emergency call.

This can include your medical information and your emergency location.

How to access com.android.emergency on your phone?

Unfortunately, since com.android.emergency is an Android system package, you cannot access it directly on your phone – unless you enable root access on your device.

However, you can access the Android feature that uses this package on your phone. To do this, go to your phone’s settings and select “Safety & Emergency.”

Some Android phones also have a dedicated “Emergency” app that you can launch directly from the app menu.

After accessing the emergency feature on your phone, you can edit and manage various safety features, such as your emergency contact, medical information, SOS, and other emergency settings.

What are the benefits of the Android emergency services application?

The com.android.emergency is a vital system package on your phone, especially in emergencies. Some of its benefits include:

Providing first responders with life-saving medical information like your blood group, allergies, and medication you are in.

Alerting your family or friends about your situation during emergencies.

Allowing your emergency contacts and first responders to track you accurately if you are in danger.

Warning you of crisis or safety threats near your location.

Is com.android.emergency safe?

Com.android.emergency is a legit Android application; thus, it is completely safe to have on your phone.

However, while the application is not malicious, some people might be concerned about the privacy and security risks it poses. For example, it stores your personal information (and that of close family and friends), which could be risky if your phone is stolen.

In addition, the application can access your location, which can be distressing to privacy-conscious individuals. However, Google is adamant that the application is secure and that the emergency location is only shared with emergency services.

Some Android users have also complained about accidental dialling of emergency services after inadvertently triggering the SOS feature.

Lastly, a vulnerability scan report by Oversecured shows that the application has some concerning issues that can present a security risk.

A screenshot of com.android.emergency vulnerability scan report. Image: Oversecured

These include logging sensitive personal information and storing arbitrary data, which could expose your device to serious security breaches by hackers.

Therefore, while the Android emergency services application is legit, you should be cautious about using it as it might expose you to a significant risk of data breach.

Can you uninstall the Android emergency system application?

Given that com.android.emergency is an Android system package, you cannot ordinarily uninstall it. The best thing you can do is not use the application’s features, such as emergency contact and medical information.

You can also deactivate some of the application’s features, such as the SOS trigger and sharing your emergency location.

If you are technically savvy, you can try uninstalling the com.android.emergency application from your device. There are two ways you can do this:

1. Uninstalling the application through root access

To uninstall com.android.emergency through root access, you must first root your Android device. This will grant you administrator privileges, allowing you to access and modify otherwise hidden system files on your device.

Once you have root access, download a system app remover/root uninstaller from the Google Play Store and use it to uninstall the application from your device.

2. Uninstalling the application through ADB

The other way to uninstall the com.android.emergency application is through ADB (Android Debug Bridge), which is an Android developer tool.

To do this:

Go to Settings > About Phone (About Device/My Phone)

Tap the “Build number” and enter your device’s PIN or password to enable developer mode.

Go to Settings > System > Developer Options and enable USB Debugging

Connect your phone to a PC where you have installed an ADB studio.

Run the ADB command line to remove the application (adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.android.emergency)

NOTE: Enabling root access and developer mode on your Android phone is risky, as you can accidentally mess with system settings or applications. This can corrupt your phone’s software, void its warranty, or even destroy your device.

Likewise, uninstalling a system package like com.android.emergency is not advised, as the emergency feature will not work on your phone. Attempting to do so can cause irreparable damage to your device.

If you own a Samsung phone, you have probably heard about the mysterious SKMS agent and the rumors that the application is malicious. But is the app really malicious, or are people just paranoid about it?

The SKMS agent is neither malicious nor a virus. It is a legitimate Samsung system app that comes pre-installed on phones and performs several beneficial functions.

Below is everything you need to know about the application, from its developers to what it does, benefits, and more.

What does the SKMS agent do on your phone?

SKMS agent (Samsung KMS agent) is a system app part of the Samsung Knox platform, a security platform offering data protection solutions for your device.

The Samsung KMS agent performs several functions on your phone, including:

1. Acts as a client application for eSE and SKMS

One of the major roles of the SKMS agent is serving as a client application (a secure go-between) for two vital Samsung mobile services – eSE and SKMS.

eSE (Embedded Secure Element) is a tamper-proof chip that offers a secure environment for storing and processing sensitive data, for example, pins, passwords, payment card data, cryptocurrency credentials, and cryptography keys.

SKMS, on the other hand, is a secure service that supports creating and managing encryption keys.

In its role as a client application, the SKMS agent carries out the following functions:

Authentication and authorization of requests between eSE and SKMS and eSE and other apps on your phone.

Supporting encryption and decryption processes on your phone/

Managing key permissions in SKMS

2. Manages SKMS protocols

The SKMS agent manages the communication protocols within SKMS and forwards commands from SKMS to eSE, thus ensuring the secure and smooth execution of various mobile services, such as making payments.

3. Supports mobile NFC services

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a vital service that supports short-range and contactless interaction between your phone and other devices.

You can use it to make contactless payments, share data (contacts), access control for security systems, and more.

SKMS agent plays a vital role in NFC payment services. Image: Appdrum

The SKMS agent facilitates secure communication between eSE and NFC applications (such as payment apps), guaranteeing smooth and secure transactions.

Benefits of SKMS agent application?

Having the SKMS agent on your phone can offer several benefits, including:

1. Protecting sensitive data

The SKMS agent acts as a secure interface between SKMS, eSE, and system/third-party applications. It also manages encryption and decryption processes on these platforms.

Therefore, it is a useful tool for protecting sensitive data like payment card details, passwords, mobile wallet details, and more from unauthorized access.

2. Enhancing your device’s security

The SKMS agent supports eSE and SKMS, two platforms vital to your device’s security.

It also facilitates secure communication between these platforms and other applications, ensuring maximum security when performing various actions, such as making payments or sharing contacts.

3. Ensuring the smooth operation of your device

KSMS agent allows for the smooth operation of various services on your device, for example:

NFC payments

Contactless sharing of contacts

Validation of digital identities, signatures, and keys stored in the eSE.

Management of e-SIM, whose profile is stored in the eSE.

Without the agent, some of these services would not work well (or at all).

Is the SKMS agent harmful to your device?

The SKMS agent is not harmful to your device. If anything, it is a vital system tool that can improve the security of your device and the sensitive data stored in it.

But, despite being a system app, there are a few concerning issues about the application that you should take note of:

1. The mysterious nature of the application

One major concern most people have about the SKMS agent is that it comes pre-installed and has very little information about it online. In addition, it runs in the background and has several permissions enabled.

However, the information above about the application’s functions and benefits should be enough to quell any concerns about it being malicious.

2. The possibility of the application being bloatware

Some users have complained about SKMS agent being installed on their phones, yet it is listed as not device-compatible in the Google Play Store.

Therefore, there is a chance that you might have the application installed on your phone, but it is not working. This would make it bloatware that takes valuable storage resources on your device.

3. Presence of application in untrusted app stores

The Samsung KMS agent is not malicious but is available for download on several untrusted sources.

Therefore, users trying to update the app might download it from these sources, especially when it is listed as incompatible with their devices on the Google Play Store.

Unfortunately, downloading the application from these untrusted sources could introduce malware and viruses on your device, corrupting the phone’s software or even damaging it.

Should you uninstall the SKMS agent from your phone?

While the SKMS agent application has a few concerning issues, it is perfectly safe. It also performs several critical security functions, so it is not advisable to uninstall it.

More so, being a pre-installed system app, deleting it from your phone would be a complex procedure.

That’s because you must root your device first and use a root uninstaller application.

Alternatively, you would have to enable the developer mode on your device and uninstall the app using an Android Debug Bridge Studio on your PC.

These uninstallation methods are technically complex and carry some risks, including corrupting your phone, causing extensive device damage, voiding your warranty, or even making your phone completely useless.

Therefore, you are better off leaving the SKMS agent installed on your device.

For years, HappyMod was the go-to for hacking favorite games. But with it discontinued, many are left wondering what the best apps like HappyMod are now.

Luckily, there are plenty of safe, user-friendly options that can help customize your mobile games. Top picks include GameGuardian, SB Game Hacker, GameCIH, Game Killer, and much more.

Whether you want to speed up resource collection, unlock all items, get unlimited lives, or just have some silly fun manipulating game elements, these apps have you covered.

In this article, we will cover the top 10 apps to mod and hack games similar to how HappyMod operated.

1. GameGuardian

GameGuardian offers real-time modifications and speed hacks to accelerate gameplay on iOS and Android devices.

GameGuardian is better than HappyMod. At its core, the app allows you to hack in-game values and parameters like scores, resources, damage modifiers, and more.

For example, you could increase your coins, gain infinite health in shooting games, or manipulate other variables to your advantage. You can do all that without needing root access to your Android gadget.

iGameGuardian offers similar modding capabilities for iOS devices. While not as full-featured, it can manipulate many iOS games in a comparable way as the Android one does.

Some of the best features of GameGuardian and iGameGuardian include:

Real-time value modification while playing games

Speed hacks to accelerate gameplay

Save and reload game states

Pre-made scripts and mods for many popular games

Broad compatibility with thousands of game titles

Active community support

2. SB Game Hacker

SB Game Hacker is a beginner-friendly app for modding games.

SB Game Hacker app allows real-time editing of parameters, including scores, coins, resources, and health right as you play games.

There’s no need for root access, opening up compatibility across thousands of games. The app also features speed hacks to accelerate gameplay and pre-made scripts for automating mods.

While not as advanced as other HappyMod alternatives in this listing, SB Game Hacker excels in providing an easy way for beginners to start modding games. Its focus on usability over complex functions makes it a great HappyMod substitute for casual use.

Some features that make SB Game Hacker a favorite alternative to HappyMod include:

Memory scanning to identify and edit values on the fly

Speed hacks for fast-forwarding gameplay

Preset scripts for quick modding

Cloning app data to replicate hacks

Wide device and game compatibility

User-friendly interface

3. ACMarket

ACMarket is a great app for downloading already-modified apps and games for iOS and Android. Image: Facebook/ACMarket App

ACMarket is also among the alternative apps like HappyMod for iPhone and Android that offer thousands of modded games and apps for free.

It features tweaked versions of popular titles with unlocked features and removed ads/payments. You can find modded versions of COC, PUBG, Instagram, Tinder, and many more.

This app doesn’t directly mod games itself. Instead, it allows easy downloads of already modified apps and games. This makes it a convenient way to find hacked versions of your favourites.

Key features include:

Extensive catalog of modded apps and games

Downloads free hacked versions safely

Intuitive interface to find mods easily

Regular updates with new hacked apps

4. GameCIH

GameCIH offers exceptional hardcore modding game capabilities on Android devices.

For users comfortable with rooting their Android device, GameCIH provides an unparalleled level of control compared to other apps like HappyMod.

It satisfies modders looking to customize and manipulate their favorite games fully.

However, this app sets itself apart by working on rooted Android devices. This is how it gives deeper system access to manipulate variables in games more extensively.

While requiring a rooted device limits compatibility, GameCIH excels at hardcore modding for games like COC, PUBG, and Clash Royale.

Some of its capabilities include:

Memory editor for altering game variables

Save and restore game states

Directly modify game files and assets

Works on both offline and online games

5. TutuApp

TutuApp features thousands of iOS and Android apps and games. Image: Facebook/Tutuapp

TutuApp offers a free alternative app store filled with tweaked and modded games. It features thousands of titles with premium content unlocked and ads/payments removed.

Like ACMarket, TutuApp itself doesn’t do the modding. But it gives you easy access to download patched IPAs that are ready for installation.

You can find modded versions of PUBG Mobile, Instagram, Tinder, Minecraft, and many other popular apps.

The main features of this application include the following:

Wide range of hacked iOS and Android apps and games

Free and no subscriptions required

No need to install this app, as you can also download it from their site

Convenient downloads of pre-modded IPA files

Here’s a guide to make TutuApp work if it won’t launch.

The post Fix: New notification content hidden on Android appeared first on AppDrum.

If you have a Samsung phone, you may have noticed that anytime you receive a notification, whether SMS or email, the display on your screen says Content Hidden.

That is because the content gets hidden when you have locked your screen. Thus, the only way of viewing the content is to unlock your phone.

Generally, the notifications feature lets you preview your new message or alerts when you have locked your screen, allowing you to read them without unlocking your phone. But if it says Content hidden, you must figure out how to unhide it.

You can turn off the content hidden notification in your phone’s settings.

But if you have a Samsung phone, the notification option has three settings:

Show conversations, default and silent

Hide silent conversations and notifications

Don’t show any notifications.

Hide silent conversations and notifications is the default option on Samsung devices running Android 12 and above.

Note: Other Android phones have a different setting for hiding or showing a notification when you have locked your screen.

What does notification content hidden mean on Samsung?

The new notification content is not visible because it:

Hides sensitive messages.

Ensures privacy by preventing people from snipping into your messages.

Protects your personal information.

Although the feature may be handy, it is also possible that you may want to view notifications without unlocking your phone.

Scroll down until you locate Display.

Go to the Lock display section.

Tap on Lock Screen.

Select Privacy. Three options will pop up; Show all notification content, Show sensitive Content only when unlocked, and Don’t show notifications at all.

Select Show all notification content.

After selecting the option, go back to your phone and lock the screen. If you get a message, you will preview it without unlocking your phone.

Note: The procedure may vary on different devices and Android versions. We have covered some of them below.

How to unhide content on Samsung Android 12

If you have a Samsung device running Android 12, here is how to unhide notification content:

Go to Settings.

Scroll to Notifications.

Scroll down to the bottom and select Notifications on the locked screen. A popup with three options will appear; Show conversations, default and silent, Hide silent conversations and notifications and Don’t show any notifications.

To Unhide Notification Content, select Show conversations, default and silent

Once you lock your phone, you will preview all messages or notifications you receive without unlocking it.

How to unhide notifications on other Android devices

Android devices have different ways of showing or hiding screen notifications. If the above procedure doesn’t work, try the following:

Open phone Settings.

Tap on Apps & notifications.

Select Notifications.

Tap the option labelled On Lock Screen.

Select either Show All notification content, Hide Sensitive Content and Don’t show notifications in the pop-up window.

Confirm your selection.

If you choose to show all notification content, you will preview messages, social media engagements, and emails with your phone locked.

However, even if your phone shows new notification content is hidden, you can still restrict specific applications on your lock screen.

How to hide or unhide notifications for specific apps

Image: AppDrum

Although you may want to unhide notifications to make it easier to read messages, some information is too sensitive for anybody to read, even when you have locked your device.

Therefore, you can hide or unhide notifications for specific Android apps on Android 12. Here is how:

Go to Settings.

Tap on Notifications.

Scroll down and select See All. A list of the most recent apps will display.

Find the app that you want to hide its notifications.

Select the app (e.g., Messages).

Tap on Notifications.

Toggle Off All Messages notifications to turn off notifications for Messages or that specific app.

If the Show notifications option is off, toggle it to turn on all notifications for the app.

Conclusion

When you see Content Hidden in your notifications on Android, you cannot preview an email or text message when you receive it if you have locked your phone.

Therefore, you must unlock your phone to view the Content. However, you can disable the feature to allow the preview of notifications without unlocking your phone.

You can show notifications for specific apps on your device and lock other applications.

The Android phone has many files that help it run properly. One of the files is com.android.vending, which you may see when installing an application or using the Google Play Store.

For example, when data related to the Play Store gets uninstalled on a non-rooted device, the error displays a message – The application (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

So, what is com.android.vending, and should you get rid of it?

You shouldn’t uninstall com.android.vending since it is the package name for the Google Play Store app.

However, in most cases, you will see com.android.vending when an error has occurred. The error occurs when the services related to the Google Play Store on a non-rooted Android phone are corrupt or uninstalled.

The error may also occur on rooted devices when the GApps (GoogleApps) are corrupt.

What is com.android.vending?

Com.android.vending is a system module that helps Google services identify information related to Android applications downloaded from the Google Play Store.

The module is a pre-installed application on all Android devices. If the module has an error and you open the Play Store, you will encounter the message that says Google Play Store has stopped unexpectedly.

What is an Android vending download service?

Android vending download service is an application on Android devices for downloading updates from the Google Play Store once the updates are available.

What does ‘Unfortunately com.android.vending has stopped’ mean?

Unfortunately, com.android.vending is an error you get after accidentally uninstalling Google Play. However, when you reinstall the app, you get process com.android.vending.

That is because when you uninstalled Google Play, you deleted a preference file. You can fix this problem by restarting your device and installing Google Play.

How to get rid of com.android.vending?

You cannot get rid of com.android.vending because it is a system module or pre-installed app. Your Android smartphone depends on this service to perform a number of essential tasks.

However, you can fix the error by doing the following.

1. Restart the phone

Restarting your phone is the easiest way of fixing the issue. First, hold down the power button to reveal the power-off menu.

Then, release the button and select Restart or Reboot. Once the device loads up again, try installing or opening Google Play to see whether it has fixed the issue.

3. Clear Cache

If Google Play Store has a corrupted file, the error com.android.vending will occur. You can fix it by clearing the Google Play Store cache and data.

Here is how:

Go to Settings.

Go to Apps or App Manager.

Scroll through the list and select Google Play Services.

Tap on Force Stop.

Select Storage.

Tap on Clear Cache and Clear Data.

Open the Google Play Store app and try again. Ensure to log in if successful.

3. Update the Google Play Store

An outdated Google Play Store app can cause many glitches. Consider updating it to fix the error. However, updating the app can be challenging if the Google Play Store app fails to open.

Here is what to do:

First, search for the Google Play Store .apk file on your web browser.

The best site to download the file is Uptodown.

Next, download and install the app.

After installing, you must check whether the .apk file is the latest.

Next, open the Google Play Store app and sign in to your account.

Tap the profile icon at the top-right corner.

Select Settings.

Select About.

Tap on the Play Store version.

You will see a message telling you if the Play Store is up to date.

Tap on Understood.

If an update is available, it will download automatically and install on your device. But if an update is available, it will remain the same.

4. Factory reset your device

An extreme option you should take to correct the error is to reset your device. But that means you will delete all data on your device.

Therefore, consider backing up your data. The advantage is that resetting will allow you to start anew.

Conclusion

Your Android phone has a module called com.android.vending that helps Google Play services identify information related to Android applications downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Suppose you uninstall the information, com.android.vending returns an error and forces Google Play Store to close unexpectedly. Ideally, you do not have to get rid of the module.

However, you can correct it by restarting your phone, updating Google Play Store, or clearing the Google Play Store cache. However, an extreme option is to factory reset your device to eliminate the error.

There is a blurred line between Android tablets and phones. While there are a few Android tablet-optimized apps compared to the Apple ecosystem, most phone apps run smoothly on tablets.

In some instances, however, you may get “this app may not be optimized for your device” errors when installing or when updating an app.

What does ‘apps not optimized’ mean? App optimization defines how an app fits into a gadget screen and more importantly, how it launches smoothly on different screen sizes.

In some cases, an app may run smoothly on the phone but be sluggish on a tablet due to screen differences. Yet, an app may work on both platforms seamlessly.

Some of the reasons why you are getting “app is not optimized for your device” errors include:

Cache on Google Play Store

Your tablet or phone is running on an older Android version.

Your phone or tablet may have inferior specs, for example, a less powerful CPU.

Incompatible screen configuration

How to optimize an Android app for tablet

Fortunately, you can optimize tablets Android app for tablets in different ways:

Solution #1: Force the Google Play Store to stop

Clearing data on Google Play Store – through forcing the app to stop – helps in solving the compatibility issue. To force the Play Store, follow these steps.

Go to your phone or tablet’s settings

Select ‘Apps’

On the ‘Apps’ section, click the “Google Play Store.”

Select on “Force Stop”

Finally, Clear data

After forcing the Google Play Store to stop, restart your phone/tablet. Try to download the app again.

Solution #2: Update your Android version

Older Android versions may affect apps’ compatibility. If your Android tablet is running on an older version such as Android 4.4 and below, you should update it.

To update your Android version:

Open ‘Settings’ on your phone or tablet

Select “About Phone”

Tap on “Check Updates”

If there are updates, tap ‘Install.’

After installation, restart your tablet or phone

After the installation of a new Android version, you should be able to download any app on the Play Store. If not, consider Solution #3 below.

Solution #3: Remove and (then) add your Google Account

Removing and (then) adding your Google Account back solves the app compatibility error on Android tablets.

Adding the account back helps Google to identify your device correctly and therefore, to make apps optimized for tablets available on your device.

To remove Google Account:

Go to your Settings app on your device

On ‘Accounts,’ select account

Select “Remove Account”

After removing your account, restart your device. Add your Google account through this process:

On your device, go to Settings Account

Select “Add Account”

Depending on your device instructions, add your main account.

After adding your account, you should be able to download any app. If you are still getting compatibility errors, you should consider updating your Android version.

Fixed the app not optimized error?

With the three solutions, you should be able to fix the app not optimized error and install any Android app on your Android tablet /phone.

While most updated apps can run on older Android versions, the apps may be sluggish on phones and tablets with obsolete specs. If you cannot update your phone or tablet’s OS, consider investing in a new one.

The Android ecosystem is smooth and user-friendly. However, if you are on an older Android version, your phone or tablet may be slow in downloading some OS files. It will, therefore, display a message “phone stuck on downloading do not turn off target.” Fortunately, you do not need to ship your phone to a certified technician (unless in extreme cases) to solve this issue.

Why does your phone say downloading do not turn off target? Some of the probable causes of this error include:

A software glitch on your smartphone

If you miss the correct button combination in the recovery mode

If the EFS folder is missing on your phone

Steps to fix Phone stuck on “downloading do not turn off target”

To fix “downloading do not turn off target” error, follow these steps.

Solution #1: Exit the “Download mode” on your Samsung device

If you are using Galaxy S7, S6, S5, and S4, exiting the download mode solves the problem. To exit the download mode, follow these steps.

Press and hold the Galaxy power button + Home button + Volume down simultaneously

Continue pressing the three buttons until the screen of your Galaxy gadget goes black

Release all the buttons and let the phone reboot automatically

Here is a video of the same:

Exiting the “download mode” solves this problem. If this solution does not remove the “do not turn off target on Samsung” error, move to the next solution.

Solution #2: Initiate a clean restart

If you are using a different Android phone, initiating a fresh restart solves the problem. Also, the solution works for Samsung Galaxy phones (only if the first solution did not work).

To initiate a clean restart;

Turn off the device by holding the power button for at least five seconds.

If holding the power button did not turn your device off, remove the battery (for older phones) or hold the power button + volume down.

Remove your SD card (if you have any) and SIM card

Wait for 20 seconds before powering up your device.

A “Clean restart” helps in discharging phone capacitors and refreshing the phone’s CPU. If you still get the error message, consider wiping the cache partition, as we explain below.

Solution #3: Wipe the cache partition

If your phone says downloading do not turn off target, it could be due to a firmware glitch. To solve the firmware glitch, follow these steps.

Power off your android device

After 30 seconds, press Home button + Volume up Key + Power button simultaneously

After 5 seconds, the phone will vibrate. Release the buttons

You will see five (5) options. Scroll down to the fifth option, and wipe the phone’s cache

Press the power button twice

The process will take about 5 seconds

After wiping the cache partition, scroll up to the first option and reboot your android device.

Here’s a video explaining the same:

When cleaning the cache partition, you should ensure that your phone has enough charge. If this solution does not work, send you an Android device to a certified phone technician.

Download without interruptions!

If your phone still gets Android updates, it is advisable to check new updates continuously. The new Android versions — from Android 8 — are stable, and it is rare to get software hitches. Also, ensure that all your files are backed up always.
